We've decided to expand the area of cutting some. Much of the trees are honey locust, which are not necessarily hardy trees. They have a tendency for the top to break off, so we're expanding the "clear" area around the house. Right now it looks like a war zone.
I've been out chainsawing just about every day for the past week or so.
Now, some views of the area.....
This pile is where the living room will be:
And finally, site 1 is where Ben used to camp. Not very private anymore!

Perc done, trees coming down
No new pictures, looks pretty much the same. The perc test was done on Tuesday in the heat of the the evening. Good results--a conventional septic. Been working at clearing the "finger" of trees in order to plan the siting of the garage. Hard to chainsaw when it's 95+ degrees out.

Cutting the hay, siting the house
Now that the hay has had it's second cutting we can attempt to lay out the site. You can't see them very well, but there are about 18 stakes for two sides of the house.
Waiting on the perc test so we can get the permits going.

Saving some walnut trees
Been busy taking down the tree line between the house site and the town road. We are keeping any walnuts that are there....we hope to have a walkway between them. The little Thuls joined us over there for some climbing....
