Pre-Labor Day Weekend

The stairway railings are going in and the 2nd floor bath is shaping up. Next week the rails will be done and hopefully the floors will get the final finishing. The building inspector finished his work today -- occupancy once the railing is completed and the balcony railing on.

Sunday morning details

Work is progressing, albeit slowly. The front railings are all up, the kitchen porch railings are on their way, the gingerbread is up, and the remaining trimboards on the bump-outs have been painted. Debra & Jess York stained the concrete as well. Inside, the utility room is complete -- drywalled, mudded and painted. The laundry tub is in, and the central vacuum system is now complete. The work room is also drywalled and painted and ready to fit out with shelving.

We are now shooting for a September 1 move-in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday morning 8-14-2013

Jason came over yesterday and today and started installing the porch railings:

While the railings were going up, Bruce was busy with the last of the siding and reworking the "Juliet" balcony.

The plumbing is 99% done (only one sink is missing a part), the electrical is complete, the heating has just the range hood ducting connection. The upstairs bath needs the cabinetry finished off and the trimwork installed. The interior stairs railing is yet to complete and the maple flooring needs it's final coat. The upstairs landing needs the bookcase wall completed and trimmed out. Still a ways to go before we move in.......

 This has been a week of small changes in the house. The steps are now on all three porches and the lattice is too.

Then on Thursday the first samples of the gingerbread went on. Notice the peak above the steps and the top of the posts.....

This is especially for Shera, since she checks for new pictures every day. Bruce and Dean were busy at work on the front porch today. Rock going in under the porch, lattice going on, bees being evicted, steps going on, lotsa activity.

Debra and Katy were busy painting the garage lights, too.

More finishing work and a blueberry patch!

The gazebo is done except for touch-up painting and the light, trim work going onto the porch, the upstairs bath is plumbed, and we planted a blueberry patch -- 41 highbush blueberry plants.
